The Grass Is Always Greener...

when you can eat it!

B was having a tough afternoon last saturday. jason was still at work & i decided we are getting out of the house. we are going to the park & i am going to let beckham eat grass. this was the pep talk i gave myself. typically, we don't let beckham just munch on grass. but, this day, grass eating was exactly what was needed. 

 he inspected each blade of grass before taking his chop stick fingers to his mouth. he munched on each piece. savoring the flavors of each crisp green delight. i just sat back & let him go. only saying "no, no" to clumps of dirt grass. that was just too much for me.

 i sat back from a distance for awhile. letting him decide where he wanted to be. he crawled around with excitement. babbling the entire time. turning leaves over in his hand. and eventually making it to his mouth. okay, i stopped the leaf thing too.

 but, i left him play in the rocks & even let him taste one until he attempted to swallow it whole. that was the deal breaker. me & choking don't roll well together.

 at the end of it all, a content baby was left. to sit & enjoy the beautiful weather in the park.
