The Baby Cake: Week 17 (Christmas Eve Addition)

 where did that bump come from?

Pregnancy Stats:

How far along: 17 weeks

Size of the baby: an onion or a grapefruit

Total Weight Gain: +12 lbs. dang it! this is way harder than i thought it would be.

Gender: well. we went to the doctor on tuesday and the doctor said "i am thinking a girl!" but, the baby was being very modest laying on his/her side hiding all the goods, so he would not confirm the sex. BOO! project "find out baby gender" take 2 on january 18th.

Movement: i think i did, i think i did! i was laying in bed on my side and felt waves move from one side to the other. little ripples almost. what a tease, i haven't felt the babe since.

Sleep: it's just not the same. i'm just not the sleeper i used to be.

What i miss: SUSHI!!! i think this will remain the same.

Cravings: seriously sushi. salad & hash browns.

Symptoms: moody & emotional.  just being honest. and some nausea. cold sores! twice now. upper back pain from my ever growing front side. and the upper back pain isn't from my belly growth.

Maternity Clothes: this belly has expanded a lot in the last week, so i have a feeling those maternity jeans will soon be a full time thing.

Megan's Best Moment this Week: finally caving and buying this adorable little sweater for baby D...what can i say, the baby made me do it!  

Jason's Best Moment this Week: finding out that he has a modest daughter (see gender). He's sold that it's a modest baby girl!

The Baby Cake: Week 14

A much needed baby update! 

Pregnancy Stats:

How far along: 14 weeks 4 days

Size of the baby: the size of a lemon

Total Weight Gain: +9 lbs. (yes, i'm serious! thank goodness i haven't gained any weight in about three weeks...oh & i swear i know where at least 2 lbs. are!)

Gender: we have a strong feeling it will be a baby girl

Movement: Nothing yet

Sleep: i'm trying so hard to NOT sleep on my back & i have to get up about two times a night...you know to...well...pee.

What i miss: SUSHI!!!

Cravings: hmmmm...depends on the day. sushi. oh wait, i can't have that

Symptoms: congested...and a terrible charlie horse in my sleep...just wrong, wrong, wrong

Maternity Clothes: i have purchased two pairs of jeans, three sweatshirts & a jacket...i've worn the jeans a couple of times but still a bit too big!

Megan's Best Moment this Week: technically last week...visiting the doctors & seeing our little baby, that actually looks like a baby now, wiggling and moving around and around and sucking it's thumb!

no my BUMP is not anywhere near this large. after dinner i was so full.

i said to jason "wait until my belly looks like this!" and he busted up laughing and had to get a picture!

Fall with The Davises

fall has come and gone, the tree trunks have shed their leaves and all that is left is the crunch of dried leaves beneath your feet. but, before the golden glow of fall disappeared we were able to soak it in with jason's folks. it was a treat having them here for a visit, especially because it was their first time here since we moved!

they arrived late on a wednesday evening. on thursday patti & craig explored our neighborhood while we worked. that evening jason & his dad braved the chilly evening & the height of the empire state building to take in the incredible sights of night in the city.

 the next day we enjoyed the day off, strolling the pups through the park & checking out other neighborhoods in the city.

 on saturday we rented a car and headed out for an adventure!

 first up a very tasty banana cream pie! thanks for taking us there, patti.

 AND then...something i have always wanted to do! APPLE PICKING!!!

plus, we got some pears too! they were so tasty! sweet, juicy...the best pears i have ever had in my life!

 the apples were put to good use! patti taught me how to make my first apple pie! crust & all. 

i have now made it twice unsupervised! including one on thanksgiving!

oh & yes, i am already pregnant & my tummy is totally pudging out in the photos below!

 they just know something has to hit the tile. waiting so patiently.

it was a great visit, even though i was pretty sick while they were here (morning sickness) which was a bummer. fall is such a beautiful time to take in the northeast! i'm glad we were able to share it with them! THANK YOU for coming to visit patti & craig!

that's right! you guessed it. our family is going to be growing over the next 9 months. around june 3rd this family is about to be a family of 5! have fun clicking through "the baby cake" links. it will catch you up with all that has been going on over the past few weeks! i am 10 weeks today! we just couldn't keep it in any longer!

The Baby Cake: Week 11 / Week 9 (Again)

so our little lime was only a lime for a day (before we found out the baby is still a green olive)! we finally got in to see the ob/gyn tonight. he (which i was so nervous about because i have only ever had a female doctor) was awesome. made me feel so comfortable. spent so much time with us and made me feel a little less nervous about this whole pregnancy thing.

i have to be honest, i have been anxious about a lot of things. is the baby doing okay in there? feeling like we need to squeeze in a lot before May 23rd. and that this is about to change our lives & relationship forever. but, he was awesome. he was great.

we found out while we were there. just as i assumed, i am not as far a long as my regular doctor said. the baby measured 9 weeks 4 days on the ultrasound & my official estimated due date is june 3rd!

exciting stuff! and so surreal!

Time with Family

about a month ago, jason and i headed to the bay area to celebrate a very special life and spend sometime with my mom's side of the family. it was a very quick trip with a little sneak attack trip to SoCal. it is never long enough and every time i realize "this is home!" it fills every pore of my body. i love being in california. i love being with my family. i love being with my friends.

 

we surprised my dad. he thought we were flying in to San Francisco on saturday morning and flying back to NYC on sunday evening. instead we extended our stay for a day and flew down to SoCal with my parents. i not only wanted to spend some more time with my parents but there was a VERY special little girl that had entered the world a few weeks earlier and i could not wait any longer to meet her.

first stop...reuniting with our little man. who is not so little anymore. boy has put on some pounds but still as sweet as pie and adorable as ever.

 lunch with my grandma & grandpa AND so cool we got to see my aunt, uncle & cousin who were visiting from North Carolina. i miss getting to see them so much!

 another lunch (but didn't really end up eating a second lunch) with J's parents, brother & his gf, Liz in santa monica. more pictures of that soon!

 And then, and then, and then...i have been waiting and waiting and waiting for this moment! meeting ellie jean! FINALLY! i am in love. it was worth every moment i had to wait.

 and getting to see this sweet, gorgeous girl...

 

and this stunning, funny girl were the icing on my already sweet cupcake!

 had a very necessary lunch

 

 and play some video games with my dad!

 we won the most tickets you can win on deal or no deal! 400 tickets! awesome!
