The Birthday Boy!

my dad definitely gets to double dip this time of year...father's day one weekend & the very next his birthday!!

jason and i drove out to my parents house for a relaxing night filled with a tasty dinner, yummy cupcakes & a board game!

Happy Father's Day!

a day to celebrate ALL the amazing dads in the world. now i am a bit partial and think that my dad is extra special...you know the brightest bulb, the best cook in the kitchen, the creme de la creme of dads. now, i realize that many of you may think this about you own dad's...and i respect that! :)

sunday, we had a jam packed day with breakfast, a trip to the farmer's market, the ice cream shop, the pond shop & a SERIOUS game of dominos that required a dinner break! basically a day in the life of my dad! it was such an incredible day!

Dad,
i cherish the time we have together. no words can begin to describe how blessed i feel to have you as my dad. you have consistently supported me, guided me, nurtured me & loved me. i realize this can be challenging at times but you never stopped. i appreciate the sacrifices you have made for our family. i love your perspective on life & your constant self growth.

i am blessed to have a dad that isn't afraid to show his emotions & always allows me to show mine. thank you for always allowing us to be close and knowing how important that is. thank you for reading me bed time stories, shopping for clothes with me, letting me go away to school but always allowing me to come back home, and most recently walking me down the aisle!

I love YOU, Dad! My life is more complete daily because of our relationship! Thank you for all you are! I truly have the best parents in the world!

A birthday wish...

there are moments in my life were i know everything is going to be okay. moments that just erase all the stress and worries from my mind. i changed school districts in 6th grade. i said good-bye to all of my elementary friends and was about to face a new school with just a few faces i knew from dance.

i remember being so nervous for the first day of school, feeling totally out of my comfort zone...with hundreds of thoughts running through my mind. as my parents dropped me off in front of the gates of chaparral...i saw Kristen. i was still nervous because we had hung out a few times during the summer but you know it was still fresh...not as comfortable yet as my old friends. i stepped out of the car and walked towards her. she said "hi, i having been waiting for you!"

seriously?! how amazing is that...she was waiting for me...to welcome me and make me feel more comfortable. i thought she was waiting for her friends but she wasn't. she then took me an introduced me to erica & lindsey & a bunch of other friends. at that moment i knew it was going to be okay. it was going to be more than okay...it was the best decision my parents made.

kristen has been a constant in my life ever since. she is one of the most amazing people i know. i will always cherish our childhood/teenage moments of too many "just kiddings!" dance competitions at disneyland hotel, choreographing dances in your parents garage, our cooking demo tapes and everything in between.

i cherish daily the new memories we get to make. i feel blessed that our husbands have taken such a liking to each other. now we don't have to plan anything and still get to see each other a ton!

kristen, i so look forward to seeing what else life has in store for you. i truly cannot imagine my life without you! And of course, now danny! (which i could not imagine a better match than him for you!!)

on your birthday & always i wish for you constant, unconditional love (like you give others), amazing vacations (hopefully some with us), days filled with uncontrollable laughter & what ever else you may want from this world. YOU deserve it all!! I LOVE YOU!! xoxo
