this past weekend was flooded with adventures. from a flight to the bay area, a pumpkin patch tour & a surprise trip to the final home game for the galaxy. i've mentioned before the love affair jeremy & anna have with the galaxy team. for the past two years they have had season tickets to watch their favorite soccer team. and because of their undeniable soccer love, it has rubbed off & made the entire family smitten with the sport too!
well unfortunately for jer & anna, but fortunately for the davis clan, jer got stuck at work and offered over their tickets. beckham was a fussy buns in his
fuzzibunz but we decided how could we not introduce him to a live soccer match.
there was one condition to us getting these amazing tickets. b had to be decked out in his landon donovan signed galaxy onesie that jer & anna gifted our sweet boy before he had even finished cooking in my belly. we obliged & dressed our little man in the over-sized 24 month onesie.
jeremy & anna's seats are perfection. second row, just to the right of the galaxy bench. so close you can smell the freshly cut grass. some of you may be familiar with a soccer player by the name of david beckham. wink. wink. well, david beckham plays for the galaxy. so our sweet boy got to watch beckham work his magic on the soccer field. the first time it was a little odd calling our beckham, beckham.
the noise of the roaring crowd was a bit much for B. he had a handful of meltdowns every time the crowd exploded with excitement. except for when the galaxy sailed the soccer ball into the net. i think we may have a mini fan on our hands.
near the end of the game, b was DONE. so i slipped out of our seats and headed to the top of the stands & waited in some empty seats, more removed from the growing crowd noise. j joined us there, after the 90mins & extra time had passed. we watched as the soccer team walked around the entire field clapping & thanking their fans for all their support (a tradition after every match). i think it is so cool that they take the time to do that. we watched as landon donovan hoisted his MVP trophy high above his head. and we watched as the team & fans said farewell to greg berhalter, a long time player, who is retiring.
it was a great night. beckham's first professional sporting event. a galaxy win. and a night out with my family of three. thank you again, jer & anna for spoiling us with such a fun night out!

oh funny story before i sign off. if you know me, you know i'm a rule follower. i honestly get so much anxiety about breaking rules. well, we had to park kind of far from the stadium because it was packed. and when we got to the gate. camera in hand (of course!) to capture this "first" we headed towards security.
to hear...
lady worker - "uh, ma'am...you can't bring that camera in here. the lens is to large. you'll have to take it back to your car!"
me - "i'm not walking this all the way back to the car! we are parked to far away & we have the baby."
lady worker - "then you'll have to check it at guest services."
me - "i'm not checking this camera at guest services! i will put it in my backpack & not use it"
lady worker - "you'll have to speak with out supervisor over there in the red jacket!"
walk towards supervisor in red jacket, who is busy dealing with a cell phone issue with another guest.
i see that lady worker is distracted, so i throw the camera in our bag and tell jason "GO!" we take off walking, me way faster than normal because i am sure i'm going to be tackled by security at any moment, completely panicked until we are safely seated in jer & anna's seats on the other side of the stadium. phew. needless to say, the camera remained in our bag until after the game because a lady behind us got busted for a much smaller lens than ours!
