A Week in Rewind: Part III

i hope you are enjoying "A Week in Rewind" so far. we are getting into the thick of things now and by the end of this post we will reach our half way point!

the next few days we surrounded ourselves with the Finn family. it was so nice having EVERYONE off from work! such a blessing to have that time. i love my family oh-so-much.

monday we enjoyed lunch with the fam. i don't know if anyone really enjoyed the food but we definitely enjoyed the company!

that afternoon we soaked up the beautiful weather in my parents backyard.

they got to enjoy watching a hummingbird nest, lay eggs and see the babies grow.

now, the empty nest remains! so cool. 

that evening...we had a great dinner with rob (j's best man). i mean seriously, so tasty! we were of course bummed that bernie had to leave town but feel so fortunate to have them in our lives.
i totally missed snagging a photo. bummer.

all i can say is beach, beach, beach!

we met jer & anna down at dog's beach and i am so glad we did.

i miss those relaxing days on the sand so much.

keico walked from our spot on the beach to sit with jer while he stretched before going into the water.

so sweet!

a quick dinner, some shopping & dance class (at least dance class for k & me) completed our evening. 

i miss our tuesday night routine so much! it is such a stress reliever!

i know, i know. not only is this post getting long but you're right...i am lucky!

i still got to go to the FAIR! oh i scored BIG time. i would have been so sad if i missed the fair.

at one point we lost my parents. thank goodness we were able to find them. 

just kidding. but, i couldn't resist.

andrea, evan & gavin met up with us. such a treat.

i realized, after flipping through our photos, that we didn't get a picture of the fam. DANG it!

funny story...i was playing with gavin & the buttons on my dress kept opening. 

eek! so our play time was cut short! sorry gav! next time i will pick a better play outfit.

look at everyone's faces. my dad is smiling. my mom looks TOTALLY concerned. kristen and danny have a "what the heck" are we looking at face. and anna is walking away laughing.

and to close the night (and this overly LONG post) our fair tradition.

the ZIPPER. i honestly tell myself, every.single.year. this is the last year. by the time the next july rolls around i have suddenly forgotten that this ride makes me feel like i am literally going to die with each flip, creek, swing, sway, rotation. my eyes stay shut tighter than a vault at a bank, while i scream over and over "i'm gonna die, i'm gonna die!" and jeremy just laughs uncontrollably while he counts "oh my god, one-two-three times!!" each time the car flips!

next stop...some much needed time with the davis family.

A Week in Rewind: Part II

you ready for some more fun in the sun? i was so excited about sunday! we had a fun shower planned for baby E & lindsey! you know how much i love throwing events but it is always even more special when you get to host an event for a dear friend. this is such a special time for the flood's & i was so thrilled that we were able to celebrate them.

since we didn't know who this baby would be, we decided on an owl theme.

errrrr...STOP. before we go head first into the shower let me fill you in on the boys!

they decided on a round of golf to escape the overly girly afternoon we had planned.

okay, pardon the intermission. back to the shower.

it all started with this fabric & this invitation.

i had so much fun making them.

and then it became this! it was totally different than lindsey's first shower (for miss laney mae) & i loved that about baby E's shower.

for the food table, courtney with joyful weddings & events, made this adorable sign!

because erica and linds are growing new littles.

everyone made a custom bib for lindsey & baby e.

the finished project! i think they are all so adorable and it was such a fun activity to do as a group!

lindsey is so much fun to watch open presents because you get reactions like THIS...

laney was so excited about her new necklace from grandma cheri.

it was such a fun afternoon! thank you everyone for coming...

i seriously cannot wait to meet the new baby!

i know i will have to wait longer than i would like. sniff. sniff.

stupid 3,000 miles.

AND just because this is such a funny picture. we were waiting for my mom to come home from the airport and danny was playing with sofie. she has a lock jaw like no one else!

A Week in Rewind: Part I

we are back to real life, after a wonderful week at home. our week plans shifted a bit because of a sad family loss but we soaked in all the extra time we got with family and truly made the best of the time we had in sweet, sweet california.

in an effort to not have you fall asleep at your computers, i am going to break our week of adventures into a few posts.

so let's get this week in rewind rolling, shall we! the fun started with jer picking us up from LAX and heading straight to in-n-out. yes, it was 11am in the morning and we were devouring cheeseburgers. what's your point? you know you would do it too! wink. wink. it allowed us to kill enough time before heading to pickup leroy from the airport!

leroy had a BIG day. next stop san dimas costco to meet his new papa!

and then home to meet his new sissy! 

(my mama was up north doing some amazing things! so their meeting happened a bit later!)

jer & j headed to the rage show that night...and my dad & i grubbed on some sushi!

the next morning kicked off - execution "get lindsey's baby shower ready!"

i had been having some serious "nightmares" about her shower. i kept waking up and realizing that i had either missed the shower or totally forgot to do anything for it and guest were arriving!

fortunately...that did not really happen. could you imagine?!?

kristen, erica & i headed to the flower mart. ah. melt my heart. love that place.

we found some perfect flowers that were spot on with what we had planned. love when that happens!

we headed back to my parents and worked away like it was christmas eve

before heading out to catch dinner with the gang! 

kristen's face in this photo makes me laugh. LOVE it. 

and yes, i am working...on vacation. 

then we wandered over to RA Sushi were our "third times the charm" not a real 10 year reunion was attempting to take place. it is still kind of sad to me that our class didn't have a REAL 10 year reunion. 

ssshhhh...don't tell. i let laney play in the fountain. oh-wait. lindsey reads my blog. secrets out!

how could i not?! LOOK at that face! she was having too much fun!
