Lucky.

can we rewind for a minute? i thought you might let me. can i just say i am so lucky? i mean seriously. down right. lucky. i have the most amazing girlfriends. they are simply amazing, strong, incredible and oh-so supportive. really, let's be honest, they are more than friends at this point. they are family. and guess what? yep. you guessed it. erica, kristen & lindsey came to visit!!! it was honestly, no joke, a dream come true. i just never imagined we would have the opportunity to be all together, in new york.

i was so excited that it snowed, snowed and snowed right before the girls came. the park is so amazing covered head-to-toe in snow! and really, if it isn't, the park is kinda ugly in the winter.
jason spent the weekend in california. which left us all alone! a girls weekend.
well, besides sebastian, which let's be honest, my little man is kinda girlie.
we enjoyed a dinner at serendipity.
we saw the lady. that makes 3x in 6 months for me.
i know mom. she is you favorite NYC experience.

the sun was bright. and we were struggling to get a photo with ALL of our eyes open.
take ONE.

uh oh.
take TWO.
almost.
take THREE.
got it. erica had to hide behind kristen! the young guy taking our pictures was SO patient.
thanks buddy, that we will never see again! we appreciate your patience!
decisions. decisions.
you really can't go wrong. it's all so tasty.
i realize i am a little dear in head lights here.
dark room + flash = startled face.
a trip to the theater & time square.
we saw the Phantom.
it's a classic and i am glad erica was able to see one of my favs.
thank you so much girls for coming to visit me! it was such a treat.
bitter sweet because it is so hard to say good-bye!

jason & i have been so blessed with visitors.
speaking of visitors...i got to get busy!
we have andrea & evan coming this weekend!

Happy Day

last year i squirmed in bed trying to force myself back to sleep. i was convinced prior to the eve of my wedding day that i would sleep. i am a good sleeper & i thought that night would be no different.

oh, i was dead wrong. i tossed and turned all night long as butterflies danced in my stomach. you know that feeling you got as a child the night before a trip to disneyland? or christmas? or your first day of school. the over the top excitement and anticipation of what the day will bring. yep, that was me.

setting up many a wedding, seeing the gorgeous bride getting ready for her big day, surrounded by her girls & mom, i always wonder what that feeling felt like. i realize it is different for everyone. but, now, i know what that feeling is for me. it is truly incredible. knowing that you are about to make a lifetime commitment to the one person that just fits. you know...the person that your head rests perfectly on their chest, the person that feels so heavenly to hug. that person. the person, that even now, i get butterflies when i hear the front door open because my hubs is home.

looking at our wedding photos takes me back to those feelings. every. single. time. i feel this flutter in my heart. this magical feeling in the pit of my stomach. and oh how i wish we could do it all over again. and again.

what girl doesn't want to get her hair and make-up done with all her fav people & her mama? it is like the ultimate date night!
especially knowing a few hotel rooms down the hall this handsome man is getting ready for you!
our first look (yes, we saw each other before the ceremony & i am so glad we did) was like a first date times 10 million. i remember feeling so nervous.
thinking "oh i hope he thinks i look pretty!"
we were/are so blessed to have the support of our friends & families!

we got to work it out like models!
i was determined to suck it all in. i stopped when we got to the top, looked at jason, took a deep breath in and said to myself remember these moments. hold tight to this day.
personal vows were exchanged, tears where shed...
rings were exchanged...
and all was sealed with a sweet kiss!
wanna know the BEST part about seeing us before the ceremony? well, lets be honest this list could be incredibly LONG. i am big on the "first look!" but, one of the reasons is you get to enjoy the cocktail hour & reception because most of the photos are done before the ceremony event start! priceless to have that time as a couple & with your guests.
our first dance. and how cool is this...this weekend, our anniversary weekend.
we got to hear ms. alicia keys sing our song LIVE. brought tears to my eyes.
i am such a cheese ball.
special cake for my love.

sweetly feeding my husband his lakers cake...

my sweet husband smashing cake on my face...
returning the cake smashing favor to my sweet husband!
dance, dance, dancing!
Ryan. our amazing. fantastic. best gift ever. photographer!
oh how quickly that night went. you know i was completely convinced that our night wouldn't speed by. i was convinced that i would eat all my dinner & enjoy dessert.
but, just like the sleep thing. i was wrong.

i was also convinced that i would cherish these moments during that day, over this past year & for a lifetime to come. and that part i am still convinced i will do!

happy anniversary jason! thank you for the incredible year you have given me.
our first year has thrown more at me than i could have ever imagined & i could not imagine anyone but you by my side. i love you & feel honored and blessed to be your wife!
thank you for the amazing day today (more on that later)! and to at least 59 more years!
